Kevin has been tasked by his boss to help locate and clean up snake pits in the Amazon rainforest. It was no stranger to snakes, but the pit she encountered in this case had menacing vibrations surrounding it. He knew it wasn’t going to be a normal day at work. This was confirmed when he tried to get down and the snakes became more aggressive.
What’s over there?
Kevin decided not to go down straight to the bottom, this would probably have led to some very bad injuries. Of course, animals still react to what they encounter, so taking a deep dive without a strategy was not an option. Instead, he opted for the slow approach. He tried to locate whatever the snakes were protecting, and there was one thing that stood out.
Doing it slowly would allow him to prepare for what might happen while keeping the animal in a calm state and avoiding an attack that could be fatal. Not to mention, the size of the snake in his sight was larger than he was, and he could be devoured in a matter of seconds if he made a mistake or acted irrationally.
Needs help

Snake pits are created naturally, and there are no significant signs of where they are and when you can encounter them. You can’t easily assume that the pit is safe or empty because these snakes may be hiding in the waters or may have left the pit to create a new one. Then again, you can easily spot them as well because there is movement.
Hidden in the forest
It was a slow and difficult process to track down all the hiding places. Some of them are very well hidden. Due to the lack of available roads and the constant dangers of the rainforest, it has become even more difficult. The worst thing you can encounter is when you fall into the pit despite being looking for it.
The thing is, you’re inside a rainforest and lighting is limited, and these pits are also quite deep while being covered in fallen leaves and twigs. Another factor is that they may seem shallow since they are filled with rainwater, but the problem is that they are deeper than they look, which makes them even more dangerous.
Threatening the locals
Locals can be very protective of the land they live on, so any of the locals could pose a threat. Especially for someone who is trying to find a suspicious well full of snakes. Locals also tend to act in a way that feels like their land has been conquered without their control.
They are very late, some locals are even threatening the company. They love snakes and want to leave the pits untouched. Kevin’s company was hired by the government, so they had no choice but to continue. Kevin knew he couldn’t be slowed down anymore.

Kevin decided to escape, further into the rainforest. He had never gone this far. He regretted parting ways with his colleagues, but now his survival instinct had taken hold. He only thought about getting out of the situation. The anaconda followed him at a brisk pace. Kevin’s heart was pounding inside his chest, he didn’t know if he was going to get out of here alive.
The anaconda was gaining ground on him, and he knew that if this snake caught up with him he wouldn’t risk it, then something strange would happen. Out of nowhere the anaconda stopped chasing Kevin, at the same time Kevin had a strange feeling. It gave him goosebumps, it was like he didn’t belong there. He entered a part of the rainforest where he wasn’t supposed to go.
Be careful
He could guess where he had gone, this was his native territory. This is where the tribes still lived. They had never connected to the outside world, nor seen anyone from Europe. Kevin knew he had to be careful. These people loved snakes, so Kevin was definitely an enemy to them, he wandered slowly to find his way back.
That’s when he stumbled upon an altar. It was strange, it was an altar of a snake. There was something behind it. Walking around the altar he saw something that frightened him, it was the largest snake pit he had ever seen. He felt uncomfortable, as if he were being watched from the forest. It was on sacred grounds, he had to be careful.
The Snake Pit
Looking down into the snake pit he saw huge snakes, they were protecting something that was down there, that was clear. Kevin mustered up the courage to at least go down into the snake pit to figure it out. This wasn’t his brightest plan. As he was preparing his gear for the climb, he heard noises from the forest.
Kevin thought he had imagined it. So he proceeded with his plan. The moment he tried to cross the line, he suddenly felt dizzy. He completely fainted. Kevin opened his eyes after a while. He realized that he was calm, a dart shot had hit him just before he tried to descend into the snake pit.
Night Ritual
He was now a prisoner of the natives. He had been put in a cage right next to the snake pit. What would happen to him? Kevin realized that they were probably planning to sacrifice him to snakes, it looked like this ritual was going to take place that night. Kevin had to make sure he could escape and call for backup.
He needed his backpack! He had a flare gun in his backpack, which would surely help him get out of this precarious situation. The rocket would have alerted his colleagues and a part of the military who were assisting them in clearing the pits. He then located his backpack. It was right next to his cage, he was lucky enough to be able to reach him.

He quickly grabbed the flare gun from his backpack and fired. At that moment the natives fled, they knew that this meant trouble for them that they did not want to get into. Reinforcements arrived quickly, the military accompanied by his colleagues helped him out of this cage. They immediately closed off the area to clean up the snake pit.
Kevin told them there was something down there. Something the natives loved. It’s as if there’s more to why there were people praising an altar and why snakes were inside the premises as well. Kevin decided that he would be the one to go down there. They sedated the snakes and Kevin quickly climbed up. Kevin gasped at what he had said, he even heard everyone around him gasp. They decided that they should call someone and try to contact the nearest vet.
Possible solution
When the call with the vet ended, the worker who called him reacted in full shock. The vet said the snake might be pregnant and was going to lay eggs here, in the middle of the snake pit. To make sure this was the case, the veterinarian had a dangerous task for the workers. He told them to try to figure out where the bulge was on the body.
To do this the snake had to be on the ground and lying down a little, while at this time it was mostly curled up. Most workers wondered if they actually had to. What if the snake attacked them? But for the veterinarian, reaching the worker’s location was a challenge in itself, because he didn’t know the exact location of the snake.
